Ingredients

3-4 nos Drumsticks (Cut into 4-inch pieces)
1/2 tsp Fenugreek
1 tsp Mustard
1 pinch Hing (Asafoetida)
3-4 tbsp Gingelly oil
2 nos Green chilis
1.5 cups Tamrind extract (from 2 lime-sized tamrind pieces)
1.5 tsp Salt
2 tsp Sambar powder
1 tsp Jaggery
1 strip Curry leaves
1/2 tsp Turmeric

Method

  1. Pour oil in pan
  2. Add mustard, fenugreek, hing, chilis, curry leaves
  3. Add vegetable (okra or boiled drumstick) and turmeric. If okra, wait till okra becomes soft.
  4. Add tamrind water
  5. Add salt
  6. After the concoction boils, add sambar powder.
  7. Add jaggery
